NOTE : Due to the ease of customization of these Operating Systems, you may find
that the screens do not look exactly the same as in the examples, or that you may have hard time finding the Network
Options area. Also, you must make sure that you are logged in with an administrator account to change these settings.
- Click on the Start button icon on the Windows desktop
- Click on My Network Places
- Click on View network connections
- Right Click on the active Local Area Connection icon and select Properties
- Select Internet
Protocol
and click on Properties
- Make sure Obtain an IP address
automatically is selected
- Make sure Obtain DNS
server
address automatically is selected
Note: If you do not have a software Firewall
installed on your computer, we strongly recommend turning on the Windows Firewall located under the 'Advanced' Tab above prior to connecting your machine to the Internet.
- Click on OK
- Click on OK again
