No sound, no picture and snow on every channel?

Check if your VCR and your TV set are both tuned to Channel 3 and the VCR is turned on.

Make sure that all connections between the cable feed and your equipment are tightly fastened.

Also check to see if other TVs in the house have the same problem.

Try running cable directly into the TV, bypassing the VCR.
